C Hughes Contractors is a construction and development company owned and operated by two brothers, Clayton and Christian Hughes. We understand every home is unique to those who live within its walls, and we are ready to partner with our clients at every step of the custom home process. Our curated network of craftsmen uphold the finest quality of work and our company’s bi-lingual skills ensure seamless communication. We stand on the belief that with a proper plan projects should be completed efficiently, on budget, and with a meticulous attention to detail. As a small business we as company owners maintain a direct line of communication with our customers throughout the project to ensure no detail is missed.

Meet the Builder

Clayton started his career as a carpenter and climbed the ranks for fifteen years before getting his General Contractors license and starting the business in 2018. He cut his teeth in construction working on high-end custom houses and restoring historic houses in both Washington, DC and Charleston, SC. Clayton’s experience as a project manager leading the construction of luxury homes elevated his skills and vision for the building process. When not working, Clayton is planning his next international trek.

Christian started working in construction with his father during summers at age 13 and worked for different builders throughout college while studying Historic Preservation and Urban Studies at the College of Charleston. He honed his project management skills while managing an in-house crew and cabinet shop while working on award-winning projects in Charleston, SC. Christian studied Spanish in Colombia and learned computer aided design at a local technical college, the former being put into practice everyday. When Christian isn’t working he’s planning for next year’s harvest.
