Who We Are

C Hughes Contractors is owned and operated by two brothers, Clayton and Christian Hughes, and we are residential and commercial General Contractors serving Virginia and Washington, DC. We take on a wide range of construction projects including new homes, additions, renovations, and commercial projects. The pursuit of perfection, thoughtful planning, and transparent communication are core values at C Hughes Contractors. We value integrity, it’s a family thing.

Clayton started his career as a carpenter and climbed the ranks for 15 years. In all, he has worked as a foreman, carpenter, cabinet shop manager, handyman, and a project manager before starting C Hughes Contractors with Christian in 2018. Clayton cut his teeth in construction working on high-end custom houses and restoring historic houses in both Washington, DC and Charleston, SC. When not working, Clayton is planning his next international trek.

Christian started working on construction sites at the age of 15 and worked for a contractor through college while studying Historic Preservation and Urban Planning at the College of Charleston. Christian learned Spanish while living in Colombia and learned CAD at a local technical college, both of which he uses everyday at work. Christian honed his project management skills while working for a construction and development company in Charleston, SC. When not working, Christian loves playing sports and gardening.
